PITTSFORD, NY – Junior outside hitter Kaylene Noble surpassed 1,000 career kills, and the St. John Fisher women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to 25 matches with a sweep of Houghton on Friday night at Manning & Napier Varsity Gym. The Cardinals (25-1, 10-0 Empire 8) secured the top seed for the upcoming Empire 8 Conference Tournament with the victory. Additionally, they recorded their 17th straight sweep and 21st of the season, tied for the most in program history during the rally scoring era (2001-present).
Noble reached 1,000 career kills early in the second set. She finished with 18 overall while logging a .316 hitting percentage.
How It Happened
The Cardinals cruised to a 25-9 victory in the first set behind seven kills from freshman Kalyna Dannenberg, who hit .500 in the frame. Senior Madalyn Bouton had four kills on four attempts.
Noble led the Cardinals to a 25-21 victory in the third set with seven kills. Dannenberg slammed four more and hit .375.
Fisher finished off the sweep with a 25-16 third-set victory. Noble continued to dominate the Highlanders in that frame, pounding nine kills while hitting .538. Dannenberg had five more kills to end her night with 16.
