SUNY Geneseo, SUNY Brockport, Elmira College and Utica University advanced to the 2025 Empire 8 Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament Semifinal round after advancing in quarterfinal action on Saturday, Nov. 1. Top-seed Geneseo out-lasted No. 8 Hartwick College, 1-0, while No. 2 SUNY Brockport defeated No. 7 Russell Sage College, 4-0. No. 3 Elmira defeated No. 6 seed Nazareth University, 1-0, while No. 5 seed Utica scored five first half goals en route to a 5-1 win over No. 4 seed and defending champion St. John Fisher University.
No. 1 SUNY Geneseo will host No. 5 Utica in the first Empire 8 Semifinal on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. from College Stadium, while No. 2 SUNY Brockport will host No. 3 Elmira will meet in the second semifinal from A. Huntley Parker Jr. FIeld at 7 p.m. Earlier this season, Geneseo defeated Utica, 2-1 on the road on Oct. 4, while Brockport and Elmira played to a scoreless draw from Elmira’s Campus Field on Oct. 18.
