The Empire 8 has unveiled its Upon Further Review - Inside the Empire 8 video series which will focus on wide ranging topics from NCAA Legislation to conversations with current member institution administrators, alumni and more. Episode 1 dropped on Wednesday, December 3, featung Empire 8 Executive Director Chuck Mitrano. New episodes will launch throughout the academic year and unveiled on the Empire 8 social media channels, including X, Instagram and YouTube.
Mitrano sat down with former Nazareth Assistant Athletic Director/Sports Information Director Joe Seil on the inaugural episode to discuss the Empire 8 sponsored proposed legislation to specify that a student-athlete would be charged with a season of eligibility if they compete at any point during the traditional season. Current policy dictates that eligibility is used once a student-athlete practices rather than competes. The Atlantic East Conference and Little East Conference are also sponsors of this legislative proposal. The legislation will be discussed and voted on at the 2026 NCAA Convention in January.
