In addition to Mooney's championship, the Empire 8 had three national runner-up finishes, as Penelope Greene of Geneseo was second in the women's 5,000-meters on Friday night, Victoria Brewster of Houghton University finished second overall in the 60-meter dash and Jonathan Zavala of SUNY Brockport was the runner-up in the men's mile.
Overall, nine different E8 student-athletes or relay teams (six women and three men) earned NCAA First Team All-American honors by placing in the top eight of their respective events and 13 (nine women and four men) garnered NCAA Second Team All-American honors (finishing 9th-16th)
