Eleven Empire 8 student-athletes were selected to the 2024-25 United States Basketball Writers Association Rochester Area NCAA Division II-III Teams. The team was selected by The Rochester Chapter of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Sidney Tomasso of St. John Fisher University was named Player of the Year for the second straight season and SUNY Brockport's Corinne Jones was named Coach of the Year.
Tomasso, along with teammate Kelly Moravec of St. John Fisher in addition to the Nazareth University duo of Molly Benetti and Sarina McDowell, Kaileigh Hunt and Stephanie Jean-Baptiste of SUNY Brockport and the SUNY Geneseo trio of Grace Galgano, Kiley Snow and Kristun Suydam were named to the USBWA Rochester Area First Team. Sarina McDowell of Nazareth was an honorable mention selection. Tomasso was honored for the fourth straight season, while Benetti, Galgano, Jean-Baptiste, McDowell and Snow are all two-time selections.
Madalyn Kelly of Nazareth and Mackenzie Reigle of Empire 8 Champion and NCAA Sweet 16 participant SUNY Geneseo earned honorable mention accolades.
Student-athletes were selected from the nine Rochester area institutions, Keuka, Nazareth and St. John Fisher from the Empire 8, Roberts Wesleyan College, University of Rochester, RIT, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo and William Smith College.
