SUNY Brockport baseball moved into the No. 25 spot in the American Baseball Coaches' Association 2025 NCAA Division III Coaches Poll that was published on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. The Golden Eagles are also the first team receiving votes in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 Poll.
The Golden Eagles are currently 14-1 overall and 3-0 in Empire 8 conference play. The team is currently averaging a .324 batting average and have scored 149 total runs while only allowing 52 runs.
Zach Eldred, Kyle Blake and Jason Story are among the offensive leaders for the Golden Eagles. Eldred holds a .491 batting average with 11 extra-base hits, 30 RBI and an impressive .947 slugging percentage. He is also the reigning Empire 8 Co-Pitcher of the Week after a 13-strikeout performance. Blake holds a .407 batting average 24 hits and seven RBI. Story has a .382 batting average 21 runs scored and 28 RBI. On the mound, Anthony Lapine leads the way with a 1.27 earned-run average with four wins under his belt. He has 25 strikeouts with an opposing batting average of .173.
The Golden Eagles are scheduled to play three non-league contests this weekend before jumping back into league play at Houghton on Tuesday.
