Brockport's NCAA Postseason Run Ends After Loss to Elizabethtown in Opening Round of 2025 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament

Golden Eagles finish 2024-25 season with a 24-5 record

ASHLAND, VA – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball had its NCAA DIII Tournament run come to an end on Friday, falling to No. 20 Elizabethtown in the opening round, 99-67. Brockport concludes the 2024-25 season with the first round loss in the national tournament, finalizing its record at 24-5 overall with a 15-1 mark in E8 play.
 
The Golden Eagles saw a pair of big performances off the bench from Harmony Philo and Mandy Brink.
 
Philo led the squad with 15 points, going 3-for-4 from 3-point territory and 4-for-5 at the foul line.
 
Brink was the only other double-digit scorer for Brockport, finishing with 11 points.
 
Kaileigh Hunt stuffed the stat sheet with key contributions all over the court. She totaled nine points, six rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal.
 
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste also had nine points to go with three boards, three assists, and three steals.
 
Elizabethtown took an early lead after the tip-off, going up 8-2 in the opening minutes. The Blue Jays shot 66.7% (10-15) from the floor in the first period to take a 7-point lead into the second quarter.
 
Brockport bounced back by winning the second quarter, 22-19. Although the Green and Gold offense got going, Elizabethtown remained in the lead going into halftime, 40-36.
 
The third quarter saw the Blue Jays put together an incredible shooting performance, shooting 80% (12-15) from the floor in the period. While Brockport scored 21 points in the third, Elizabethtown added to its lead with 30 points in the quarter.
 
Heading into the fourth, the Golden Eagles trailed the Blue Jays, 70-57. In the final frame, the Blue Jays continued their hot shooting. They scored 29 points in the fourth on 62.5% shooting (10-16), to put the game away, 99-67.
 
The Golden Eagles made their return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2008-09 season and posted the most single-season wins since the 2007-08 season. Brockport won the 2024-25 Empire 8 Regular Season Title and clinched the E8's No. 1 seed.
