Empire 8 Trio Garners 2025 NFCA All-America Honors

Three Empire 8 standouts from three different institutions earned 2025 NFCA All-America honors. Junior outfielder Jessica Remm of Alfred University was named to the second team while freshman third baseman Kaijah Alexander of Nazareth University and sophomore outfielder Emily McManus of St. John Fisher University were named to the third team. 

Remm had a standout season, finishing the regular season and Empire 8 Championships with a perfect, 1.000 fielding percentage. She was named the Empire 8 Co-Player of the Week twice and Saxon of the Week five times. At the end of the regular season, Remm broke the single season record for RBI at SUNY Poly with her 55th and continued to add to it to where she broke the Empire 8 record, held by Laura Remia of Ithaca College in 2001 with 63 RBI, recording her 65th on Saturday afternoon to help the Saxons go undefeated in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament with a win over St. John Fisher University. Her game-winning home run also clinched her the AU and Empire 8 record for single season runs scored, surpassing Thompson and her record of 56 runs scored in 2015. Remm then added two more RBI in the NCAA Regional Tournament held at Christopher Newport University with a two-run home run against Regional Champion, Randolph-Macon. Remm finished the season with a .462 batting average, recording 67 hits, one shy of the AU school record

Alexander, the 2025 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year, was nothing short of spectacular in her collegiate campaign. Alexander was plastered on the leaders list for the conference, ranking first in slugging percentage (1.081), hits (42), RBI (41), and home runs (11) in 22 conference games. She was also second in batting average (.568), on base percentage (.607), and on base + slugging percentage (1.688). For the entire season she led the conference with a .536 batting average (59-for-110), .602 on-base percentage, 1.064 slugging percentage, 1.666 OPS and 16 home runs. The freshman incredibly reached base in all 36 games and had a 33-game hit streak from March 15-May 8. She broke the Nazareth single season record for hits (59), RBI (56), home runs (16), total bases (117), batting average (.536), slugging percentage (1.064), and on base percentage (.602). Nationally, Alexander ranked second in the country in slugging percentage (1.055), was seventh in total bases with 115, third in RBI per game at 1.60, sixth in total RBIs with 56, fourth in on base percentage (.592), third in home runs per game (.46), fifth in home runs with 16, and fifth in batting average .532. Her fantastic rookie season earned her E8 first team All-Conference honors as well as a spot on the E8 All-Tournament team. Nationally, she was named first team All-Region and an NFCA Division III Freshman of the Year nominee.

McManus set Fisher's single-season home runs record as a sophomore this past season, smacking 15 long balls while playing in all 44 of the Cardinals' games. The 2025 Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year also led Fisher and set career highs in batting average (.445), hits (53), slugging percentage (.908) and walks taken (25). She finished with a career-best 44 RBI, second on the team. McManus has driven in at least 40 runs and hit at least 13 home runs in each of her first two collegiate seasons. She already ranks fourth in Fisher history with 28 career homers. She was a first team NFCA All-Region recipient.
