SUNY Brockport's Zach Eldred Named 2025 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Position Player of the Year

Brockport, NY – The American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods have announced the 2025 National Position Players of the Year. Brockport's Zach Eldred was named the NCAA Division III 2025 ABCA/Rawlings National Position Player of the Year.
 
The ABCA/Rawlings Position Players of the Year are selected by ABCA coaches committees from nine divisions of amateur baseball: NCAA Div. I, II & III, NAIA, NJCAA Div. I, II & III, Pacific Association Division, and high school.
 
Eldred continues to rake in the accolades after an incredible career and 2025 campaign with the Golden Eagles. Now the NCAA Division III ABCA/Rawlings Player of the Year, he adds to his list of accomplishments that already includes: ABCA 1st-Team All-American, D3baseball.com Player of the Year, D3baseball.com 1st-Team All-American, ABCA & D3baseball.com All-Region Player of the Year, three All-Region selections (2024, 2025 x 2), two Conference Player of the Year Awards (SUNYAC in 2024, Empire 8 in 2025), and three All-Conference selections (2023-24 in SUNYAC, 2025 in Empire 8).
 
Eldred proved to be elite both at the plate and as a pitcher for the Golden Eagles in 2025. As a batter he set or tied the single season records at Brockport with 70 hits, 59 runs, 18 home runs, and 70 RBIs. He registered a .414 batting average, .840 slugging, and a .485 on base percentage. While on the mound, the Golden Eagle earned an 8-0 record with a 1.89 ERA and 0.97 WHIP across 62.0 innings. Eldred held opposing batters to a .197 average and registered 73 strikeouts in 12 starts on the hill.
 
The Golden Eagles claimed the 2025 Empire 8 Conference Championship this spring to earn the automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championships. A pair of losses in the regional round ended the campaign at 36-5-2 overall and a 21-1-1 mark in E8 competition.
