Empire 8 Conference Executive Director Chuck Mitrano announced the hiring of Sydney Bailey as an Empire 8 Intern for the Summer of 2025
Bailey will serve as an operations intern gaining insight into how the Empire 8 functions and serves its member institutions, as well as the role Empire 8 plays in the intercollegiate athletics eco system along with its peer conferences, Division III and the NCAA.
"My ongoing internship with the Empire 8 Conference has given me hands-on experience across multiple areas: from on-site logistics and coordination, budget management and membership surveys," said Bailey, who is set to enter her senior year as a Sport Management major at St. John Fisher University. "I have also had the chance to initiate my own projects, each of which has deepened my understanding of what it takes to run a successful collegiate athletic conference."
Bailey will also gain valuable insight into the emerging trends in intercollegiate athletics at all levels, how the industry has progressed during unprecedented times, and where it may evolve. She will also work championship events, support social media and branding efforts, participate in various meetings and support the growth of the conference technological infrastructure amongst other opportunities.
