Grad student Charlie Wilson of SUNY Geneseo was named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country NCAA Division III Team, which recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Remm was a third team selection.
The 2025 Academic Academic All-America® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. In order to be eligible for both All-District and All-American consideration, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, hold a 3.30 cumulative GPA or above and be a starter or important reserve for their respective teams.
Wilson, who has a 3.75 grade-point average as an neuroscience and sociomedical sciences major capped off an incredible season in 2025. Wilson is the 2024 Empire 8 Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year and the 2025 Empire 8 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Year.
In his cross country season, Wilson enjoyed a tremendous season for the Knights, earning NCAA Division III All-American honors with a 31st place finish at nationals, while winning the individual honor at the 2024 Niagara Region Championship (24:51.8) and earning runner-up honors at the Empire 8 Championships. Wilson was also second at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University and was 13th at the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational. He set a personal best over 8.000-meters with a time of 24:13.0 at the Empire 8 Championship and broke 25 minutes in all five of his events this season.
During his outdoor track season, Wilson earned runner-up honors in the 10,000-meter run at the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship, crossing the finish line in an all-time Empire 8 record time of 29:21.43 to earn First Team All-American honors. He also shattered the Empire 8 record and qualified for nationals in the 5,000-meters with a time of 14:08.50 at the Widener Final Qualifier on May 12. He would go on to finish 12th in the 5,000-meters at the NCAA Championships and earn Second Team All-American honors. Wilson was also a USTFCCCA All-Niagara Region selection in both the 5,000- and 10,000-meters.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
