ALFRED, NY – No tricks, all treats on Halloween for the Golden Eagles. Brockport moved to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in league play with a dominant 28-3 road win over Alfred University Saturday afternoon. It is the sixth straight win for Brockport as the team remains unbeaten in the E8. With the victory, Head Coach Jason Mangone ties Rocco Salomone for the all-time record with 103 career wins at Brockport.

Junior running back Derrion Battle powered the offense with three touchdowns, while a swarming Brockport defense held Alfred to just 160 total yards and forced four turnovers.

Brockport struck first late in the first quarter after the defense set up prime field position. Jayden Ferrell forced and recovered a fumble at the Alfred 29, and three plays later Battle broke loose for a 12-yard touchdown run. Christopher Bascetta's PAT made it 7-0 with 3:32 left in the first.

Battle wasn't done. On Brockport's longest drive of the day – 11 plays, 53 yards, chewing 6:14 off the clock – quarterback Zymier Jackson found Battle out of the backfield for a 5-yard touchdown pass with 3:01 left in the half.

Just 26 seconds later, the defense got on the scoreboard itself. Sophomore Brady Schnell jumped a pass from Alfred QB Ian Harpster and returned it 27 yards for a pick-six. The interception was one of three for Brockport on the day, pushing the lead to 21-0 at the break.

Brockport put the game away coming out of halftime. Starting at the Alfred 41, Brockport marched 41 yards in 11 plays, capped by Battle's second rushing touchdown of the day from 1 yard out to make it 28-0 with 6:50 left in the third.

Alfred avoided the shutout with a 43-yard field goal from Dominic Bronco with 5:44 left in the fourth – the only points of the day on a 12-play, 54-yard drive.
