Empire 8 men’s basketball standouts Anthony Rose of SUNY Poly, Lamar Lovelace of Keuka College and Jaylen Savage of Nazareth University were named to the 2025-26 NABC All-District III team on Tuesday, March 17. Rose was a first team selection, while Lovelace and Savage garnered second team honors.
Rose, the 2025-26 Empire 8 Player of the Year and a first team all-conference selection, finishing second in the Empire 8 players in scoring, averaging 19.3 points per game, shooting 85 percent from the foul line to go along with 5.2 boards, 1.4 steals and just under a block per game. A senior from Bronx, NY, Rose averaged 20 per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor in league play this season. Rose scored at least 20 points in 13 different games this season, including three different 30-point outings. He earned All-E8 first team honors for the second straight season.
Lovelace, a 2025-26 Empire 8 first team all-conference selection and the 2025-26 E8 Tournament MVP, set both the Keuka College and Empire 8 Conference single-season scoring record with 636 points. He averaged 21.9 points and six rebounds per game, while leading the Wolves to their first Empire 8 Championship in program history. Lovelace, a senior from Rochester, NY, scored at least 20 points in a game 21 times and had four different 30-point efforts, including a season-high 41 points against Russell Sage on Jan. 9. He averaged 27.7 points per game over his final nine games to end the 2025-26 season.
Savage, a senior from Elmsford, NY, earned his second-straight all-region nod after averaging 17.5 points per game, ranking fifth in the Empire 8. He is a four-time E8 all-conference selection and posted a career-high 48 percent field-goal percentage and shot 85 percent from the free throw line. He added another career-best with 2.7 assists per game and led the E8 in minutes played, averaging 34.3 per game. Savage, a 2025 NABC First Team All-American and 2023 E8 Rookie of the Year, finished his tremendous four-year career at Nazareth with 1,736 points, tied for the eighth-most all-time in league history.
