The Empire 8 Conference announced its 2026 Women’s Flag Football Championship All-Tournament Team on Tuesday, April 28. SUNY Brockport senior quarterback Megan Gerber was named Empire 8 Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Golden Eagles to the league’s inaugural title on April 24.
Gerber was named Empire 8 Tournament MVP following a dominant two-game performance as a dual-threat quarterback. In the 36-31 championship victory over Elmira, Gerber rushed for 260 yards and one touchdown on 33 carries while passing for 127 yards and three touchdowns. Across the tournament, Gerber accounted for nine total touchdowns, averaging 167 passing yards and 3.5 passing touchdowns per game, while adding 214 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown per contest. She totaled 387 yards of offense in the title game alone, leading all players.
Fellow SUNY Brockport standouts Trelani Harper and Addy VanDewater joined Gerber on the All-Tournament Team from the offense, while Lauren Cundra, Cymbri Jefferson and Ava Leyh garnered All-Tournament Team accolades on the defense for the Golden Eagles. Harper and VanDewater each had three receiving touchdowns in the tournament, while Leyh had two key interceptions in the title game.
Amarionah Dixon had Hannah Smith, along with Faith Ingber and Jenica Jones earned All-Tournament Team accolades for runner-up Elmira College. Dixon had 15 catches for 178 yards and four touchdowns as No. 4 seed Elmira rallied from a 26-6 deficit to defeat top-seed SUNY Geneseo, 34-26 in the E8 Semifinal, while Smith threw for 612 yards and accounted for nine total touchdowns in the two tournament. Corina Dunn and Jessica Chase of SUNY Geneseo in addition to Audra Doll and Ellie Kalbach of Hartwick College also garnered All-Tournament Team accolades.
