GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation, Dani Drews, announced on Tuesday, June 9, that Nate Wiley '99 will become the Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation. Wiley will step down as the head coach of the women's soccer program, where he led the Knights for 20 years and was the winningest coach in program history with 211 wins.

"I am honored and extremely excited to join the administrative team here at Geneseo," said Wiley. "This opportunity represents an exciting next step in my professional journey, and I look forward to working alongside the student athletes, staff, and community to continue building a culture of excellence, integrity, and opportunity. I'd also like to extend a big thank you to Dani Drews, Jess Seren, and the entire search committee for trusting in my abilities to help support the Geneseo Athletics department."

After 20 years at the helm of the women's soccer program, Wiley amassed a record of 211-97-54, winning seven conference titles and reaching the NCAA tournament eight times. Additionally, six of those trips to the NCAA tournament have come since the 2017 season, including capturing the Empire 8 title in 2024 during the Knights inaugural season in the conference. Wiley was named the SUNYAC Coach of the Year four times during his tenure, and the United Soccer Coaches East Region Coaching Staff of the Year in 2009 and 2017. In addition to his role leading the women's soccer program, he has been vital to the athletic department behind the scenes in recent years by assisting with budgets, event management, and much more. A 1999 graduate of Geneseo, Wiley also holds a masters in business administration from Penn State Behrend.

"We are thrilled to welcome Nate into his new role with us," said Drews. "His dedication to Geneseo, the women's soccer program, and the athletic department over the years have been invaluable, and we can't wait to see him thrive in this new role continuing to support our incredible student-athletes and our department."

A national search for Geneseo's next women's soccer coach will begin immediately.
