Eight Empire 8 women's lacrosse teams were named to the 2026 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad, while 57 student-athletes garnered IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll accolades for their hard work in the classroom.
The IWLCA named 357 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2025-26 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women’s lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. Empire 8 institutions SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo, Hartwick College, Keuka College, Nazareth University, Russell Sage College, St. John Fisher University, Utica University earned this prestigious team honor.
In addition, 1,350 student-athletes from 174 different institutions were named to the 2026 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
St. John Fisher University led all Empire 8 programs with 15 student-athletes honored. Nazareth University and SUNY Geneseo had seven student-athletes honored, while SUNY Brockport and Utica University had six, Hartwick College had five, Keuka College and Alfred University had four while Russell Sage College had three.
