Three Empire 8 standouts from defending E8 Champion SUNY Cortland, Utica University and Alfred State College were named 2025 D3football.com Preseason All-America selections. Cortland corner back Nazair Jean-Lubin and Utica Tight End Logan Frederick were first team picks. Alfred State running back Noah Currier was a second team selection. Jean-Lubin is a repeat preseason All-America selection.
Frederick, a graduate student from Little Falls, NY, had a historic year in 2025. He appeared in 10 games catching 74 passes for 867 yeards and 12 receiving touchdowns. His prowess earned him E8 first team All-Conference accolades as well as first team All-ECAC. Frederick was also named D3football.com first team All-Region. On the national side, Frederick made some waves. He was a Walter Camp Division III All-American, D3football.com fourth team All-American as well as Associated Press second team All-American.
Jean-Lubin, a senior from Freeport, NY, was selected as a D3football.com Preseason All-American for the second time. He was a first team D3football.com All-American and a third team Associated Press All-American. He earned first team All-Region II honors by D3football.com and was an E8 first team All-Conference member. He had four interceptions with 11 pass breakups during his 2025 season.
Currier, a senior who hails from Oakfield, NY, enters his senior season having earned All-Empire 8 first team accolades as a running back and for all-purpose while earning second team honors as a return specialist. He earned All-ECAC second team honors and was a D3football.com first team All-Region II as a return specialist and a second team as a running back. During his 2025 season, Currier led the Pioneers with 25 touchdowns, 19 rushing, four receiving and two kickoff return touchdowns. On the ground Currier had 1,234 rushing yards on 213 carries and averaged 5.8 yards per carry. In the air, he had 357 yards on 42 receptions.
