GENESEO, NY - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team completed a 7-0 sweep at home over SUNY Brockport, improving to 10-0 overall and 7-0 in Empire 8 play. With the win, the Knights have clinched at least a share of the regular season title and the No. 1 seed for the 2026 Empire 8 Women's Tennis Championship Tournament. The Knights honored their senior class in a brief pre-match ceremony, recognizing JoAnn Catalano, Rachel Molloy, Natalie Pipes, Samantha Rava, and Talia Wutz.
Geneseo swept all three doubles flights. Natalie Pipes and JoAnn Catalano won 6-3 at first doubles, Samantha Rava and Rachel Molloy followed with a 6-0 win at second doubles, and Talia Wutz and Alex Comiskey closed out the point with a 7-5 win at third doubles.
The Knights carried that momentum into singles, sweeping all six flights. Pipes won 6-3, 6-1 at first singles, and Rava followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win at second singles. Molloy was leading 6-5 at third singles when her opponent retired. Catalano cruised at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-2, while Levatino won 6-3, 6-1 at fifth singles. Wutz capped the sweep at sixth singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win.
With the No. 1 seed locked up, the Knights remain unbeaten through ten matches this season.
