2013 Empire 8 Cancer Awareness

Student Athlete Advisory Committee's and teams from across the Empire 8 Athletic Conference will participate in various promotional activities throughout the fall season, primarly the month of October, to raise awareness and funds for Cancer research in their local areas.

All gate money will be donated. There will be bracelets, ribbons, and baked goods for sale as well as a serving game for prizes.

St.  John Fisher College Oct. 12 Pancreatic Cancer Soccer Game in memory of Mike McCabe, the late brother of our head women's coach Jill McCabe, who passed away from the disease in 2009. More Information Lustgarten Foundation $1500
Oct 5. Sold t-shirts and bracelets at the Fisher field hockey vs. Washington and Jefferson game and the Fisher football vs. Frostburg State game.  The committee also sold raffle tickets, selecting three participants who threw a football 15 yards into a target before the football game.  American Cancer Society $1821
Stevens Institute of Techonology Oct 9 Dunk your Coach!
Athletes and students will have a chance to dunk their coach for $1 a throw.
(All money raised is in honor of Stacy Norkus - mother of a WLAX player who passed away from breast cancer).
