Ithaca senior Mary Kate Tierney was named the Empire 8 Women’s Basketball Championship Most Valuable Player after averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds in two games as the top-seeded Bombers won their third consecutive E8 title and sixth overall. Tierney led Ithaca with 22 points and set the program's single-season record for 3-pointers made in the 73-69 semifinal win against St. John Fisher. Tierney also had 12 rebounds in the contest and made 5-of-7 free throws. She added 14 points and 10 boards in the 63-51championship victory over Stevens.
