Junior Ashton Villeneuve, a 2013 NCAA qualifier, opened her 2014 season with a victory at the 8th annual SUNYIT Short Course 5K Invitational. She won the race for the second consecutive season after recording a time of 20:23, good for an average mile pace of 6:34. She guided Utica to a third place finish overall at the 12 team meet (127 runners).
