Pitman broke her own school record in the pole vault twice this week. Pitman cleared 3.90 meters (12 feet, 9.5 inches) in the championship portion of the event and placed third overall at the Penn Relays. She was the only NCAA Division III athlete accepted into the championship, and the only two entries to place ahead of her were from Duke University. At Cornell's Big Red Invitational on Sunday, she cleared a height of 4.10 meters (13' 5.25"), which was almost a foot better than the runner-up from Division I Binghamton University. Pitman currently ranks second in the nation with this performance.
