Rosensteel defeated two of the top players in the conference as Stevens won two matches and clinched the top seed for the Empire 8 Men’s Tennis Championship. He topped Gabe Cortes of Elmira 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 on Saturday and then defeated reigning Empire 8 Player of the Year Josh Rifkin of Ithaca 6-3, 6-1 on Sunday. Rosensteel, who teamed with sophomore Shota Tasaki to post two wins, remained undefeated in singles and doubles conference play in 2011.
