Sasha Zavadska paced Elmira to a 5-0 start in the first week of the season averaging an astonishing 5.83 kills and 2.06 digs per set, while hitting .314. The senior finished the week with 105 kills, 37 digs, 15 assists and seven service aces. Over the weekend the Soaring Eagles went 4-0 to capture the Elmira College Invitational as Zavadska recorded double-digit kills in each match and was named Tournament MVP. Elmira defeated conference foe Houghton in five sets as the senior tallied 33 kills and nine digs and was responsible for 28 points.
