Ella Greico (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) and
Sam Lewis (East Rochester, NY/East Rochester) were named 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) NCAA Division III All-Americans on Tuesday, December 16. Greico was a first team selection, while Lewis was a third team pick. They are the 21st and 22nd different All-Americans in E8 history.
Greico and Lewis become the seventh and eighth players in Geneseo's program history to earn the All-American distinction.
Greico becomes the first, First-Team All-American in Geneseo's program history and first in the Empire 8 since Hannah Mackey of Utica University in 2025 after a record-breaking junior campaign. She led the Empire 8 in scoring with 67 points on 28 goals and 11 assists in 22 games played this season, which is also a program record for goals and points in a season. She excelled in league play, tallying 39 points on 16 goals and seven assists in 10 games versus E8 foes. Greico led the Knights to the NCAA Tournament having recorded at least one goal in 17 games, with four different hat-tricks and five contests with at least seven points. Greico, who also led the league with seven game-winning goals, finished the season in the top-10 nationally in both goals (1.33 – sixth) and points (3.19 – sixth) per game.
Greico has 112 career points on 48 goals and 16 assists in 58 games over three seasons.
Lewis was second on the Knights offense this season with 33 points on 10 goals and 13 assists. The senior surpassed the 100 point mark in her career by scoring Geneseo's lone goal in the NCAA Tournament against Hamilton, and is second all-time in program history for career assists with 34. Lewis also tied the program record for assists in a season with 13 this year. She garnered her second straight All-E8 first team accolade and was an All-Region first team selection in 2025.
Lewis finished her tremendous career at Geneseo with exactly 100 points on 33 goals and 34 assists over 80 career games. She tallied five game-winning goals and was the 2024 Empire 8 Championship Tournament Most Valuable Player.
Greico and Lewis helped lead the Knights to their second straight Empire 8 Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament this season with an overall record of 20-2.
