GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's and women's cross country teams both earned spots in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason poll, with the men's team coming in at No. 3 and the women's team at No. 12.

The men's team is ranked third to begin the season, tying its best preseason ranking since 2017. The Knights are coming off a sixth place finish at last year's NCAA Championship meet, and return several talented runners, namely Empire 8 champion Ryan Hagan and All-Region performer Pierce Young. Both Hagan and Young set multiple PRs during the outdoor season, as well as placing top-five in their respective events at the NCAA Championships (Hagan in the 1500; Young in the steeplechase).

The women's team enters the 2025 season ready to replace a lot of firepower from last season, where they finished ninth overall at the NCAA Championship meet behind a third place finish Penelope Greene. The Knights also lose their No. 2 runner from the championship meet, Lilly Fowler-Conner, who placed 48th. Geneseo's key returners include Ann Brennan, Ari Reback, Jillian O'Rourke, Sierra Doody, and Annika Hurley, who all finished top-10 at the Empire 8 Championship meet.
