Three Empire 8 standouts were named 2026 Division III men's lacrosse preseason All-Americans by the USA Lacrosse Magazine, which released its list of the country's top 90 players on January 27.

St. John Fisher University's Matt Slowkinski and Tyler Manning and SUNY Geneseo's Josh Knapp all garnered honorable mention all-american honors.

Preseason All-Americans are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors with input from collegiate coaches.

Slowinski, named as a short-stick defensive midfielder, recorded three goals and one assist during his 2025 season. He had one of each in the Cardinal's win over Nazareth in the Empire 8 Championship game.

Manning, the reigning Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Year, earned all-american honors during his 2025 campaign. In his 20 starts, he made the third-most saves by a St. John Fisher goalkeeper in a season with 185. He finished his season with a 16-4 record. Manning was first in the E8 in goals against average (8.97) and second in save percentage (55.6).

Knapp, a defender for the Knights, earned first team all-conference honors as well as all-american honors in 2025. He finished his junior season recording two goals and four assists on offense. He added 27 ground balls and caused 19 turnovers.

Geneseo will start their 2026 season on Saturday, February 21 against RPI while St. John Fisher will start one week earlier on Saturday, February 14 against SUNY Oneonta.
