St. John Fisher University standouts Maddie Lowney and Kaylee Gadol were named 202 Division III women's lacrosse preseason All-Americans by the USA Lacrosse Magazine, which released its list of the country's top 90 players on January 27.
USA Lacrosse named Lowney to the preseason first team and Gadol to the third team.
Preseason All-Americans are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors with input from collegiate coaches.
The back-to-back Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year and first team all-conference member, Lowney led the Cardinals in ground balls with 53 and set the St. John Fisher single-season record for caused turnovers with 44. In addition, she won a career-high 75 draw controls, putting her second on the team on the season.
Gadol, the 2025 Empire 8 Co-Goalkeeper of the Year, earned 17 wins on 18 appearances in 2025. She tallied 65 saves with a .468 save percentage, third highest in the Empire 8. She ranked first in NCAA Division III in goals-against average with 5.33.
The Cardinals, in their first season with Maykate Edmunds at the helm, will start their 2026 season on Saturday, February 21 against the University of Rochester.
