Twelve Empire 8 Student-Athletes Named 2026 USILA Division III Men's Lacrosse All-Americans

Twelve Empire 8 student-athletes were named 2026 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Men's Lacrosse All-Americans. Empire 8 Champion St. John Fisher University led the way with six All-American selections, while Nazareth University had four All-Americans, SUNY Geneseo and Alfred University each had one player honored.
 
Players selected for All-American were nominated by their coach and then received votes from the All-American Committee. A total of 57 players were named first, second and third team All-Americans, while 174 more earned honorable mention accolades.

St. John Fisher senior goalkeeper Tyler Manning earned Second Team All-American honors, while teammates Sean Donaldson, a senior midfielder, and freshman face off specialist Jonah Vormwald earned Third Team All-American accolades. St. John Fisher midfielder Lane Edinger, short stick defensive midfielder Matt Slowinski and defenseman Connor Gray, along with Nazareth attack Matthew Farrington, midfielder Louis Cogliandro, short stick defensive midfielder Luke Suchyna and defenseman Nick Hinch, along with defenseman Josh Knapp of SUNY Geneseo and face off specialist Hunter Cupp of Alfred University earned Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Manning and Knapp both earned their second All-American accolades. while Cornell, Leuze, Salit and Johnson were repeat selections. Nine of these student-athletes earned Empire 8 First Team honors, two earned second team and one earned third team honors earlier this month.

Manning, the 2026 and 2025 Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Year, finished his season with an 7.80 goals against average and a .602 save percentage for the Cardinals in 2026. He recorded a 6.12 goals against average and a .624 save percentage in league play. A native of Glenville, NY, Manning has had 10 games with at least 10 saves, including a season-best 18 in the Empire 8 Championship game against Nazareth on May 2 en route to winning Empire 8 Tournament Most Valuable Player honors.

Donaldson, the 2024 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year, prouced the best season of his career as a Cardinal. He was third on the team with 57 total points on 43 goals and 14 assists. He added three game-winning goals and 21 ground balls.

Vormwald, the 2026 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year, appeared in all 19 games for the Cardinals, winning 259-of-355 face-offs on the season, while grabbing 186 ground balls. Vormwald led the league by winning 78 percent of his draws in league play. He won 19-of-25 draws in the E8 Championship game.

Farrington, the 2026 Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year, enjoyed a tremendous senior season in 2026 with 95 points on 48 goals and a league-leading 47 assists in 19 games played. He excelled in league play with 71 points on 33 goals and 38 assists in nine contests, leading all players with 8.9 points per contest. He recorded three different games with at least 10 points this season, including 13 against SUNY Poly on April 1 and finished his career with 263 points on 127 goals and 136 assists in 70 contests. Farrington was also the 2023 E8 Rookie of the Year. 

Cogliandro, a first team all-conference selection, ranked tenth in the Empire 8 with 3.44 points per game in conference play and finished his season with 18 goals and 13 assists for 31 points. 

Edinger, a first team all-conference selection, had his best season as a Cardinal in 2026. He led the way for the Cardinals with 64 points and 21 assists. He totaled 43 goals and 24 ground balls. 

Slowinski,a third team all-conference selection, helped an eighth-ranked scoring defense with three caused turnovers and 20 ground balls picked up. 

Suchyna, a first team all-conference selection, ranked eighth in the Empire 8 with 4.67 ground balls per game and ninth with 1.56 caused turnovers per game. He finished his career with over 250 ground balls. 

Gray, a freshman first team all-conference selection, had a stellar debut season as a Cardinal. He caused 21 turnovers, picked up 29 ground balls and started all 21 games on the season. 

Hinck, the 2026 Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year, led a Nazareth defense that allowed just 45 goals in nine conference games in 2026. Hinck has played in all 19 games for the Golden Flyers in 2026 and caused 22 turnovers to go along with 62 ground balls. Hinck is the first E8 Defensive Player of the Year from Nazareth.

Knapp, a first team all-conference selection surpassed 100 career ground balls this season after picking up 49 on the season. He led the Knights in caused turnovers with 31.

Cupp, a second team all-conference selection, had a historic season for the Saxons. He got a national nod by being named to the USILA Team of the Week back in March. He broke or tied five school records putting him in the top spot for career ground balls and a face off wins. He wrapped up season with 274 face off wins and picked up 197 ground balls.
