Cardinals and Bombers Ranked by D3Football
The St. John Fisher College and Ithaca College football teams remain in the
d3football.com top 25 poll after the first week of the season. The Cardinals received 384 points and remained at No. 9, while the Bombers moved up four spots to 19 with 154 points.
Fisher scored the game's final 22 points to earn a 36-14 win over visiting Otterbein University. The Cardinals are 11-2 in the last 13 years in season-opening games, with both losses coming in 2008 and 2009 to Mount Union.
Ithaca started its season with a 21-16 win over Union on Saturday at Butterfield Stadium. The Bombers continued their incredible run of success in season-opening games - winnng its 34th season-opening victory in the last 38 years.
Salisbury University and The College at Brockport- were among other teams receiving votes.
Fisher and Ithaca will both return to action in two weeks. The Cardinals will travel to play Brockport at 6 p.m. on September 20th in
Courage Bowl X – a game dedicated to the children of Camp Good Days and Special Times.
Ithaca will host Hartwick College Sept. 20 at 1 p.m.
