Five Empire 8 Women’s Cross Country Teams Garner USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors

Empire 8 women’s cross country programs Hartwick College, Nazareth College, The Sage Colleges, St. John Fisher College and Utica were named 2019 NCAA Division III All-Academic Teams, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
 
Overall, there were 212 women’s teams that received All-Academic honors in NCAA Division III.
 
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
 
Hartwick led the five E8 schools with an impressive team GPA of 3.57, while Nazareth was right behind with a 3.51 and both Sage and St. John Fisher carried a 3.50 mark. Utica compiled a 3.11 mark to qualify.
