St. John Fisher’s Jack Mulvihill to Represent Empire 8 on NCAA Division III SAAC Committee

St. John Fisher men’s lacrosse standout Jack Mulvihill will represent the Empire 8 on the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He will serve through January, 2022.
 
Mulvihill, who is completing his junior year at St. John Fisher is a standout on both the lacrosse field and in the classroom. A 2019 All-Empire 8 first team selection, Mulvihill was also named a 2020 Inside Lacrosse Division III preseason All-American. He recorded nine goals and 16 points in five games in 2020. He tallied 33 goals and 50 points in 2019 and has career totals of 54 goals and 85 points in 41 games over three seasons.
 
A native of Syracuse, NY, Mulvihill, who also serves on St. John Fisher’s SAAC, holds a spectacular 3.95 grade-point average as an inclusive adolescence education major.
 
“I am extremely excited to be an NCAA SAAC member and to represent the Empire 8 Conference and Division III Student-Athletes,” said Mulvihill. “It is a humbling honor and responsibility to be a part of this committee, and I am looking forward to each and every moment of it.”
 
The mission of the National Student-Athlete Advisory Committees is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image.
 
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) represents the Division III student-athlete voice in the Division III governance structure by reviewing legislation; identifying significant student-athlete issues; implementing national student-athlete based initiatives; encouraging community outreach; and enhancing Division III student-athlete involvement in and understanding of Division III in general.  The SAAC is also the committee that is primarily responsible for maintaining and coordinating the division’s nationwide partnership with Special Olympics.  The committee meets in-person four times each year in January, April, July and November.  It also conducts teleconferences as needed.
