The Alfred University, Hartwick College and Nazareth College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams earned Scholar All-America Team honors by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their work in the classroom during the Spring 2020 semester.
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected a record 789 programs from 461 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2020 semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Spring 2020 grade-point averages, which must be a 3.0 or better and represent 17,982 student-athletes.
Alfred was the lone Empire 8 men’s team to earn Scholar All-America Team honors for both 2019-20 semesters, while the Alfred and Nazareth women’s squads also garnered the prestigious accolade in both the fall and spring semesters.
Alfred’s men recorded a team GPA of 3.24 during the spring semester, while the women excelled with a 3.52 GPA. The Hartwick men posted a 3.38 team GPA, while the women were right behind at 3.34. Nazareth’s women, who also won both the 2019-20 Allegheny Empire and Empire 8 Championships, led all conference teams with a 3.59 GPA during the spring semester.
