The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team will travel to host Franklin and Marshall in Lancaster, Pa. on Saturday, May 8, where the Cardinals, who are ranked 10th in the most recent Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association national poll, will take on Cazenovia College in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.
Fisher (14-1), which is coming off its ninth consecutive Empire 8 Championship on Sunday after defeating the Nazareth College Golden Flyers, 13-3, has qualified for the NCAA Championship 11 times overall in its history and has advanced to the Sweet 16 four times in all.
The Wildcats, who bring a 3-3 overall record into the Championship, earned the North Atlantic Championship's automatic berth into the field of 37 after defeating SUNY Canton, 15-9.
Fisher's last NCAA appearance came in 2019 as the Cardinals hosted the First and Second Rounds and defeated The College at Brockport, 18-7, to advance to the Third Round where they fell to nationally-ranked York College of Pennsylvania to conclude their historic season at 19-2.
