St. John Fisher men's lacrosse standouts Ian Evans and Jack Mulvihill were named 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division III At-Large All-America accolades. The duo earned the nationally-ranked program's first-ever CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.

Although Evans and Mulvihill are the first in the history of the program to be recognized by CoSIDA for their academic achievement, they join Kyle O'Dea (2020), Zach Wagner (2019), Andrew Rosso (2018), Kyle Denhoff (2012), and David Wood (2009), who were all named Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association in their careers. Fisher continues to add to their Empire 8-leading number of Academic All-Americans as it now claims 33 total student-athletes and four within the last academic year.

A junior psychology major, Evans earned Second-Team Academic All-American honors as he held a 3.98 grade-point average over the 2020-21 academic year.  The Lafayette native was also named a Second-Team All-American by the USILA and the 2021 Empire 8 Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference. He led Fisher and the conference with 76 total points including 48 goals and 28 assists. Evans, who was named the league's Rookie of the Year in 2019, was responsible for four goals or more in a game six times and was featured in Sportscenter's Top 10 plays earlier this season.

One of the most prolific scorers in program history, Evans produced five points or more in a game on eight occasions and set the program record for the most points registered in a single game on May 15th when he finished with 11 in the Cardinals' win over Maritime College in the opening round of the NCAA Championship.

Mulvihill, a senior biology major, added to his impressive career with the CoSIDA honor after maintaining a grade-point average of 3.86 this past year. A three-time All-American in his career, including a 2021 Second-Team selection by the USILA, Mulvihill appeared in 14 games this season and ranked third among his teammates with 47 points.  He finished the year with 28 goals, 19 assists and was credited with 23 ground balls and 79 shots.

The Cardinals captured its second Empire 8 Championship in 2021 and parlayed that into the program's second straight appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2021.
