PITTSFORD, NY – For the second time this week, the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team defeated a nationally-ranked opponent as the Cardinals, who are ranked seventh in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll, handed No. 11 St. Lawrence a 14-4 loss on Saturday afternoon inside Growney Stadium.  With the win, Fisher improved to 3-0 while the Saints closed out the weekend at 1-1 overall.

After netting the game's first goal just 47 seconds in, St. Lawrence saw the lead quickly change hands as Fisher scored three goals in a span in 1:41 with Brennan O'Brien finding the back of the net twice.

Leading by two midway through the opening quarter, Fisher continued to keep the Saints on their heels as Jordan Depetres found space and uncorked a shot past the St. Lawrence keeper to make it 4-1.  Less than a minute later, Matthew Delaney came up with a groundball and dumped it off to Tucker O'Donnell who took advantage of the Saints' keeper being out of position as he scored from 60 yards out to give the home team a five-goal cushion.

As the period continued, O'Brien found a seam for Jordan Leuze who netted his second goal of the season before Depetres produced his second tally of the frame to make it 7-1 leading into the second quarter.

Leading by six with a fresh 15 minutes of the clock, Ian Evans worked through the Saints' defense and scored before the visitors returned the favor on the other end.  Holding an 8-2 margin, head coach Dave Dobbins' squad continued to fire on all cylinders and closed out the half with two of the final three goals to take a 10-3 lead into the break.

Coming out of intermission, Fisher's defense ramped up the pressure and held the Saints scoreless in the third while on the other end, the team's offense padded its lead after scoring three goals including two in a span of 43 seconds to take a 13-3 edge into the final period.

Facing a steep climb and with time working against it, St. Lawrence looked to contain the Cardinals' high-powered offense, but was unable to keep pace as Nicholas Miller found Samuel Miller in the middle to make it 14-3.  As the game ticked down, the Saints were stonewalled at every turn as the Cardinals' defense allowed just one goal over the final 35 minutes of play.

Depetres led the team with four points on two goals and two assists while O'Brien finished with a hat trick and handed out one dime in the win.  O'Donnell was credited with two goals, an assist and two groundballs while Evans, Miller and Jack Mulvihill each had two points overall.

Joe Post won 8 of the 17 faceoffs he took and accounted for two groundballs while Logan Grom went 1-for-2 at X.

Ben Hammond moved to 3-0 in goal after another monster outing that saw the sophomore finish with 18 saves for the second time this season.  Hammond allowed just three goals in 58 minutes.  Brandon Moore played the final 2:40 in goal for Fisher.

Up next, the Cardinals will travel south to Florida where they'll face Clark University at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 12.
