WASHINGTON, DC – Nicholas Miller of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team was included among some elite company on Friday as the graduate student was added to the 2022 Tewaaraton Award Men's Watch List as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation.

The award, which is presented annually, recognizes the top lacrosse player in the United States regardless of Division.  With Friday's news, Miller became the first player in Fisher history to be included on the watch list as the Ithaca native is putting together one of the finest seasons of his career.

"As teams have moved into conference play, the intensity of lacrosse has increased another notch. These players have taken their games to this new level and have earned their way onto our 2022 Watch Lists with outstanding performances," said Andy Phillips, President of the Tewaaraton Foundation. "The Tewaaraton Foundation congratulates these players and wishes them and their teams well over the remainder of their seasons."

A Preseason All-American heading into the year, Miller, who is one of only five Division III players represented on the list, leads Fisher and ranks second overall in the Empire 8 with 38 points through the team's first eight games.

The attackman, who was named the Empire 8 Championship's Most Valuable Player a season ago, has accumulated 24 goals to go along with 14 assists.  Over eight starts, Miller has been credited with a team-leading 76 shots paired with 18 ground balls and a caused turnover.

Fisher's all-time leading scorer, Miller recently broke the Empire 8's all-time mark for career goals and joined a select group of players in Division III history to have surpassed 200 career goals.

On April 21, the field will be narrowed to 25 men's and 25 women's nominees, which can be players on the watch lists or players not on the watch lists, effectively allowing for a third round of additions.
