The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team will make its way to Medford, Massachusetts and Tufts University next weekend for the second and third rounds of the NCAA Championship as the Cardinals, who are ranked fifth in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll, will take on Catholic University in a battle of the Cardinals.
Fisher is coming off a convincing 30-11 win on Saturday night over Nazareth College to claim their third straight Empire 8 Championship while Catholic earned its way into the field of 38 by virtue of its win over Elizabethtown in the Landmark Conference Championship.
The four-team pod will also feature host Tufts, which is ranked eighth in the USILA poll, after the Jumbos dispatched of No. 9 Bowdoin in the New England Small College Athletic Conference title game over the weekend. The Jumbos will take on the winner of Norwich and Maine Maritime, which will meet earlier in the week in a play-in game.
