Six Empire 8 teams and 39 Student-Athletes Earn 2022 IWLCA All-Academic Honors

Six Empire 8 women's lacrosse teams were named to the 2022 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad, while 39 student-athletes garnered IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll accolades for their hard work in the classroom.

The IWLCA named 400 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2021-22 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women’s lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. Empire 8 institutions Alfred University, Hartwick College, Keuka College, Nazareth College, St. John Fisher University and Utica University earned this prestigious team honor.

In addition, 1,103 student-athletes from 195 different institutions were named to the 2022 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

Nazareth led all Empire 8 programs with 13 student-athletes honored. Empire 8 Champion St. John Fisher had nine student-athletes earn the honor, while Utica was third with six. A complete listing of Empire 8 student-athletes named is below.
