UTICA, NY - The Utica men's lacrosse team dominated on Senior Day from start to finish against Medaille University winning 25-1. Former men's lacrosse coach Mike Parnell was remembered at the beginning of the game.

Connor Costanza had a season-high three goals in the game. Sam Serrano notched one goal and dished out five assists. John Spoto and Nolan Shea each had two goals and one assist. Evan Grobsmith, Kevin O'Brien-Bruno, Luke Rinaudo-Concessi and Steven Queen each found the back of the net twice.

Patrick Oswald started between the pipes in the first half only facing two shots. Freshman Jake Bowen and Sophomore Owen Mix also saw time splitting the third and fourth quarter.

The Pioneers took a 20-1 commanding lead in the first half and never looked back. Costanza was shooting lights out in the first half scoring three goals on three shots. In the second half, the team tacked on another five goals and won the game in dominating fashion. Utica outshot Medaille 50-to-8 which ultimately separated the teams apart.

Coach Parnell passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2021, while his legacy and impact on the Utica lacrosse family and Utica University will always be remembered. This is the second year of honoring Coach Parnell and a tradition that began in the 2022 season, the same season in which his No. 6 jersey was retired. Parnell served as the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Utica for 16 seasons following his playing career at Utica.

Utica (6-9, 2-3 Empire 8) will hit the road and take on Keuka College on Saturday at 1 p.m. in more conference action.
