Six Empire 8 teams and 38 Student-Athletes Earn 2023 IWLCA All-Academic Honors

Six Empire 8 women's lacrosse teams were named to the 2023 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad, while 38 student-athletes garnered IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll accolades for their hard work in the classroom.

The IWLCA named 288 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2022-23 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women’s lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. Empire 8 institutions Alfred University, Hartwick College, Keuka College, Nazareth University and St. John Fisher University earned this prestigious team honor.

In addition, 963 student-athletes from 173 different institutions were named to the 2023 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

Nazareth led all Empire 8 programs with nine student-athletes honored. Utica University was right behind with seven student-athletes honored, while Russell Sage had six recipients and Empire 8 Champion St. John Fisher had five student-athletes earn the honor.
