ONEONTA, NY - One of Hartwick's most decorated swimmers,
Mikey Schultz (Binghamton, N.Y.) has qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, held in Greensboro, N.C. The four-day championship begins on Wednesday March 20th at 10:00 a.m.
Mikey's blazing time of 1:48.62 in the 200-butterfly earned him a spot in the NCAA Championships, that time ranks him amongst the top in program history. Schultz also claimed a Moyer Pool record this season, setting a new mark in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.50 seconds. Schultz was named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week five times during the regular season, the most in the conference.
The reigning Empire 8 Swimmer of the Year has been a vital component of the Hawks' success this season, leading the team to their first Empire 8 and Allegheny-Empire conference crowns since 2006. Schultz was named the Empire 8 Championship and Allegheny-Empire Championship Swimmer of the Meet for his postseason performance.
Mikey will begin his championship quest on Wednesday, March 20th at 10 a.m. participating in the 200-yard individual medley prelims and finals at 6 p.m. Schultz will compete in the 100-yard butterfly on Thursday at 10 a.m. and will wrap up the championship on Friday with the 200-yard butterfly.
