Mikey Schultz (Binghamton, N.Y.) has finished up competition at the 2024 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, held in Greensboro, N.C. He swam Wednesday March 19 - Friday March 22.
Schultz qualified for the 200 individual medley, and the 100 and 200 yard butterfly. On day one, his seed time of 1:53.61 placed him in the first heat of the prelims. He finished the race with a time of 1:54.58, placing him 44th overall.
On day two, Schultz competed in the 100 yard butterfly. Schultz's seed time of 49.04 finish earlier in the season, placed him in the second heat. He finished the race touching the wall at 49.52 seconds. This placed him at 30th overall.
Schultz's final day of competition was the 200 yard butterfly. His seed time of 1:48.62 put him in the second heat. He finished his final race of the season with a time of 1:49.39. This placed him 21st overall.
The reigning Empire 8 Swimmer of the Year has been a vital component of the Hawks' success this season, leading the team to their first Empire 8 and Allegheny-Empire conference crowns since 2006. Schultz was named the Empire 8 Championship and Allegheny-Empire Championship Swimmer of the Meet for his postseason performance.
