St. John Fisher junior midfielder Sydney Carpenter wasnnamed to the 2024 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American Team. Carpenter was a third team selection, earning her second consecutive All-American honor.
A total of 57 student-athletes were selected across the three All-American teams, which represented 29 NCAA Division III institutions.
Carpenter, a junior midfielder, was a force all over the field for the Cardinals in 2024, recording 86 points on 57 goals and 29 assists to go along with aa league-high 125 draw controls and 48 ground balls in 20 games on her way to earning her third consecutive IWLCA All-Empire Region First Team accolade and second Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year honor. A native of Hilton, NY, Carpenter was also named the 2024 Empire 8 Championship Tournament Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive season after leading the Cardinals to their 12th straight league title.
Carpenter has career totals of 136 goals, 90 assists, 226 points, 137 ground balls and an Empire 8 record 426 draw controls in her first three seasons of play.
St. John Fisher finished with a 12-8 record in 2024 and won its 12th straight Empire 8 Championship. The Cardinals advanced to the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
