2024 Empire 8 Women’s Golf Invitational to Take Place at Locust Hill Country Club Friday

The Empire 8 Women’s Golf Invitational will take place at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, NY on Friday, Sept. 13 with the 18-hole event set to start at 1:30 p.m., hosted by Keuka College. Student-athletes from SUNY Geneseo, Keuka, Nazareth University, Russell Sage College, St. John Fisher University and Utica College will compete for individual honors and the team title.

This marks the first Empire 8 Women’s Golf event since 2018. Fans can follow along on the E8 Women’s Golf Invitational Scoreboard page powered by clippd.

SUNY Geneseo
The Knights enter their first season as an Empire 8 member and come into the E8 Invitational after competing against Nazareth on Wednesday, winning 2-1 in a 2-on-2 best ball match. Junior Brooklyn Rogers and Lydia Hickey in addition to sophomores Shannon McCrory, Samantha Petroci, will be counted on to lead the way for the Knights, while Jillian Draper and Hannah Bechard will also look to contribute.

Keuka
Host Keuka will have six golfers competing for team and individual honors on Friday. Graduate student, Juliana Steed, and Kaylie Wilson in addition to sophomores Kendall Shepherd and Lilian Taylor and first-year students Olivia Hatch and Kaelyn Rudd are set to compete for the Wolves.

Nazareth
Nazareth has a full group of student-athletes ready to contend for team and individual honors. Graduate student Kayla Ringler was Nazareth’s top finisher at the St. Lawrence University Fall Invitational, placing 13th overall. Juniors Ava Malvaso and Grace Colangelo, along with first-year student-athletes Julia de Masi and Bethany Wineburg and Kara Kopyt will vie for individual accolades.

Russell Sage
Junior Grace Kinkaid is expected to represent the Gators. She carded a round of 90 at the SUNY Cobleskill Invitational on Aug. 31.

St. John Fisher
The Cardinals of St. John Fisher. Sophomore Sarah Burgess enters the invitational as the reigning two-time Empire 8 Player of the Week. She placed ninth at the season-opening St. Lawrence University Fall Invitational and was ninth at the Ithaca College Invitational last weekend. She shot a 76 in the second round on Sept. 8. Naomi Cromer, Paige Landers, Paige Lasher, Emily Wyman, and Grace Tromboli will also look to contribute for the Cardinals.

Utica 
Utica will send a strong group to Pittsford on Friday. Graduate student Carly Stefanini, who are also both standouts with Utica’s nationally ranked women’s ice hockey team will look to lead the way for the Pioneers, along with juniors Paige Graves and Riley Morris. First-year Alaina Weaver will also look to contribute.
