St. John Fisher University rolled to the team championship at the two-day 2025 Empire 8 Women’s Golf Invitational, held at Teugega Country Club in Rome, NY on Sunday, Oct. 12 and Monday, Oct. 13. The Cardinals battled through the rain on day two to maintain its large advantage and defeat defending champion Nazareth University by 61 strokes.
First-year standout
Emma Sweazy of St. John Fisher won the individual title with a two-round score of 163, six shots ahead of teammates
Ava Malvaso and
Sarah Burgess, who both shot a 169 over the two days, who tied for second. Nazareth’s Bethany Wineburg was fourth overall with a two-round total of 183, while Alaina Weaver of Utica University finished fifth.
Below are the team scores and top individual scores from the invitational. The Empire 8 All-Conference selections will be announced by the conference next week. The top five scorers at the end of the tournament will earn first-team all-conference honors with the next five finishers being named to the second team.
