St. John Fisher University standouts Sydney Carpenter, Maddie Lowney and Hanna Kumpf were 2025 named Division III women's lacrosse preseason All-Americans by the USA Lacrosse Magazine, which released its list of the country's top 90 players on February 6.
USA Lacrosse named Carpenter to the preseason second team and Lowney to the third team. Kumpf garnered honorable mention All-America recognition.
Carpenter, a two-time All-American and the reigning Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year, has her name all over the Fisher record book entering her senior season. She ranks sixth all-time in goals (136), third in assists (90), fourth in points (226) and first in draw controls (426). Last year, the three-time Empire 8 first-team selection set career highs in goals (57) and points (86).
The 2024 Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year, Lowney has caused 10 turnovers and picked up 111 ground balls over the last two seasons. She earned first-team All-E8 honors as a sophomore last year.
Kumpf, a senior, finished second on the team in goals (38) and points (59) and third in assists (21) en route to first-team All-E8 honors last season. She was also named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region Second Team.
The Cardinals, who have received votes in various preseason polls, open the 2025 season against the University of Rochester at noon on Feb. 22 at Growney Stadium. They have won 12 consecutive Empire 8 Conference titles.
