Senior guards Mackenzie Reigle of SUNY Geneseo and Sidney Tomasso of St. John Fisher University were named 2024-25 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division III Coaches’ Honorable Mention All-Americans.
The All-America team program recognizes 50 of the top DIII players in the nation, with 10 named to the All-America team and another 40 as honorable mention selections.
Reigle, who hails from Batavia, NY, leads all of Division III, averaging 7.9 assists per game and set the Empire 8 single-season record for assists in a season with 245, shattering a 17-year old record. She helped lead Geneseo to the 2024-25 Empire 8 Women's Basketball Championship and two wins in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament, as the Knights advanced to the Sweet 16 and finished 24-7 on the season.
Reigle saved her best basketball for the postseason, averaging 15.3 points, 8.2 assists and 5.5 assists per game in six postseason contests. Reigle, who dished out at least 10 assists in a game 12 times this season, was named the Empire 8 Championship Tournament Most Valuable Player and scored a season-high 22 points in her final game against defending NCAA Champion NYU. She also broke the Empire 8 single-game record for assists with 13 in a win over Utica on Jan. 14. Reigle appeared in 113 career games for the Knights and finished with 857 points, 544 assists and 441 rebounds.
Tomasso, a senior guard from Waverly, NY, who was last month was named the 2024-25 Empire 8 Player of the Year, for the second consecutive season, enjoyed a tremendous senior season for the Cardinals, leading the Empire 8 in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game to go along with 9.3 rebounds per contest, second-best in the league. In addition, Tomasso averaged 1.8 steals per game, ninth in the league, while shooting 86.5 percent from the foul line, second best in the league. Her 147 made free throws led the league by a wide margin. Tomasso scored in double figures 24 times this season, had 12 games with at least 20 points and recorded 12 double-doubles.
Tomasso, who was a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American for the second straight season, earned D3hoops.com All-Region III first team accolades for the second straight year and USBWA honors for the fourth straight season. St. John Fisher compiled a 95-18 record in Tomasso's four seasons and won three E8 titles. She finished her illustrious career with 1,632 career points, 689 rebounds, 191 assists, 183 steals and was a career 85.6 percent shooter from the foul line.
The WBCA NCAA Division III Coach of the Year, Player of the Year and Coaches’ All-America team are selected by the WBCA NCAA Division III Awards Committee from coaches and student-athletes who are nominated by WBCA member coaches.
