SUNY Geneseo Smashes Men's 200-yard Freestyle Relay Mark During Day Two of 2025 NCAA Championships

The SUNY Geneseo men’s swimming and diving team are currently 17th overall, while the Geneseo women sit 21st overall during day two of the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship on Thursday, March 20 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
 
SUNY Geneseo’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Brian Pabisch, Jordan Nielsen, Jake Nielsen and Dylan Gallub earned Second Team All-American honors and shattered their own Empire 8 record in the event, finishing ninth overall in a time of 1:20.34. The Knights quartet won the NCAA Consolation final on Thursday evening.
 
Alise Hale of SUNY Geneseo garnered Second Team All-American accolades in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing second in the consolation final and tenth overall in a snappy time of 54.94 seconds, just five one-hundredths shy of the all-time Empire 8 record. Hale was 11th in the prelims on Thursday morning.
 
Nazareth University’s Elizabeth Tripp finished 20th overall in the preliminaries of the 1-meter diving with a score of 374.30.
 
Geneseo’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Alex Sotek, Nina Chicatelli, Hale and Emily Thomas placed 24th in the preliminaries with a time of 1:35.54.
 
Abby Funk of Geneseo competed in the preliminaries of the 200-yard freestyle and finished 47th.
 
Day three of the NCAA Championships takes place on Friday at 10 a.m. with preliminary action.
