Empire 8 student-athletes from Nazareth and SUNY Geneseo wrapped up competition at the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, March 22.
Nazareth graduate student Elizabeth Tripp wrapped up her collegiate career by placing 28th overall in the preliminaries of the 3-meter diving. She recorded a final score of 368.90. Tripp won both diving events at the 2025 E8 Championships last month and was a five-time E8 Champion.
SUNY Geneseo sophomore Alex Sotek was 23rd overall in the preliminaries of the 100-yard freestyle, hitting the wall in 51.02 seconds.
Geneseo’s 400-yard freestyle relay team of Nina Chicatelli, Sotek, Alise Hale and Emily Thomas finished 23rd in the prelims with a time of 3:31.58.
Junior Abby Funk finished 30th in the preliminaries of the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:47.16.
On the men’s side. Geneseo’s 400-yard freestyle relay team of Brian Pabisch, Jordan Nielsen, Jake Nielsen and Dylan Gallub recorded a time of 3:01.39 to finish 20th in the prelims.
